A Special Place

Cheryl Ewasiuk, owner of A Special Place, knows fashion. She has spent much of her life working in the beauty industry including cosmetics businesses in the Edmonton and Calgary areas. “A Special Place was started by a former manager of mine. After about eight years, I knew I wanted to run my own store,” she says.

The business started as a consignment shop and has since become one of Calgary’s best-known women’s fashion stores under Cheryl's leadership. She goes directly to Canadian and international fashion houses to curate her shop's selection of the very best in women’s garments. “My clothes are specially chosen by me and come from places like Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and the United States,” she says. “I look for things that are unique, because we’re all unique. And my customers love it.”
