Checker's drivers are extremely rude and unprofessional, the stench in their cars is enough to make one gag, and as if all that isn't enough, they're also openly racist. An Indigenous corporate client of mine needed to catch a cab from the airport at around 7 AM. They were denied and verbally abused not once, but twice - by two separate drivers - because they did not wish to pay up front.
To Whom For the most part great service when you get your couple regular drivers! Must add though.....cab # 775 the driver always asks where to turn even after you tell him several times! His car is never clean inside! Dusty and dirty seats,dry mud on the floor! The driver himself seems polite as have had him a few times,but his knowlage of the city is very poor! Even for such a short trip like ours!
I called for a cab at my place near Southland Safeway. Never spoke to a person, just an automated answering service that said to push 1 to order a standard taxi, and then one was booked for me. The driver called me from Whitehorn Safeway. I haven’t lived in the NE for three years... Well done, Checker. Maybe invest back in some real people at your office?
Tues Apr 24/18 ordered cab night before for 7:30 a.m., appt South Calgary Eye Centre--7:40 am, not here, phoned Yellow, said on the way, then arrived, driving slowly & looking puzzled for my address. (Lions Village) told him 5340 1st St SW & bldg name. Driver asked how do I drive there.Gave a suggestion, driver took another route, slow on 13 Ave SW, stop signs every block, to Macleod Tr. Very Dirty Windshield, hard to see. Senior discount quoted 5% - I experienced stress before specialist appt.
Worst service ever. Almost every time I call for a taxi its late or goes to the wrong adress. Not at all a reliable way of transportation if youre trying to get to work on time.
Worst experience ever. Took us around the city because he didn't know where he was going. Maybe they should be using google because I paid 20 EXTRA driving around the city. Not impressed. Will never be driving again with him.

I'm currently in a Checker cab on route to my destination. The cab driver has been very polite, in a suit and tie, and offered to help me with my bags without being prompted. Unlike other taxi services I've tried in Calgary, the radio is off, and he is not on the phone. (Shout out to cabbie #1130! You're awesome).

horrible service. rode this 3 times. 2 of them are rude. telling them the destination and road to go. instead going on an area which has a lot of traffic light and also away from the shortcut. the worst one is when I arrive the destination. he's asking my complete address and writing it down. I asked him why then he stop writing. he asked me to wait for 4 minutes before paying because his meter got frozen. its plus 7 degree's outside that day. how can that possible. so he turn it off then on.

HORRIBLE. My estimated time to talk to a dispatcher was 8 mins. 30 minutes later I was still on hold. I got fed up and called United cabs and they answered in 30 seconds! Will never ever call checker again.
Great service when I downloaded their new app - it works really quickly. I saw it on this ad for YP and then downloaded at my app store. Looks for checker yellow cab calgary app. Great job Checker - bringing fast service to YYC.

Thank you for taking the time to review our taxi service. We have recently added an App which you can DL at thecheckergroup.com/app or at your favourite app store (Checker Cab Calgary) which makes booking a cab easy and quick.
I called Checker Yellow Cabs around 12:50pm right after my lunch break at work and asked the CSR to make sure that I will be picked up at exactly 4:00pm. I waited for 10 mins but no cab showed up. I called the Checker again when I was walking towards the bus stop which I decided to take instead. The CSR told me that the cab had arrived around 4:20pm but had been taken by another passenger. I explained that I did the booking earlier so they'll have an ample time (3 hours ahead) to look for a cab that could reach in my office on time; however, to my dismay the CSR hanged up on me when I was still talking to her. She was realllllyyyyyy rude. I hope there is a better taxi company in Calgary. I used to get a great customer service and on-time taxi cabs in Regina, SK.
On Sunday, September 8th 2013 at 1.52am, I called Checker Yellow Cab as I have always done before to request a cab to my house. After the phone range a few times, the automated service did not started. The phone only rang. This had also happen before on Friday September 6th. When I got a customer service rep, I was then informed that my address was Black Listed. I asked the CSR why was the address Black Listed, she told me that she did not know why. I continued to inquire for an explanation and she responded rather rudely and hung up. A few minutes later, I called Checker Yellow Cab again in order to speak to another customer service agent to find out why and was told that because I called another Cab Service, the address was black listed. I was rather puzzled and shock since this CSR was also rather rude. All I know is on that Friday morning, I had to head to an 8.30am class and called the cab service requesting for a cab which I had done on numerous occasions. After waiting for 34 minutes for a cab to arrive, I boarded a bus which was also late. In my hast to get to my class which I was already 18 minutes late for, I tried to call Checker Yellow Cab and Associate Cab to cancel both cabs. I did not get an automated service to quicken my request, but the phone just kept on ringing. Once I got to my class I was unable to answer any calls. By the time I got out of my class 3 hours later, it was too late to call the cab company. I am shocked that the address would be Black Listed. I have had positive experiences with the drivers, however the treatment I got from the Check Yellow Cab call centre was horrendous. I have ALWAYS paid for my cab service and have had positive interactions with the drivers. So for my address to be Black Listed because their automated phone service made it impossible to hasten my cancellation request is appalling! If this is how this so called cab company treats it's customers, I would warn against using Checker Yellow Cab.
Drivers are nice and cabs are ok. Just give yourself 20 minutes of spare time to wait on hold and get transferred around if you don't get a busy signal.

To avoid being on hold, we suggest you DL Checker Cab Calgary @ your app store or thecheckergroup.com/app. It is a new feature we have which makes calling unnecessary. We have had great results with cabs coming quickly. Thank you.
Used to take this company everyday and now over the past few months I've had nothing but problems....keep being told wait times of 10-15 mins and end up waiting over and hour IF they even show....was left at a store when they were supposed to wait and had to walk home the cab drivers are constantly rude and never know where they're going never dealin with this company again!!!
I left my phone in their cab late last night, and WOW!! Talk about great customer service, not only did they verify my identity and address with one of my contacts. (I have no land line, so I couldn't call them) One of their dispatchers dropped off my phone the next morning to my home! Thanks Jim :) PS My driver was quick, courteous and asked me my preferred route as well!!
We use Checker/Yellow all the time. They are always on time and their drivers are dressed very well. The drivers are very well trained on the city and usually have great service.
