I really enjoyed ...

I really enjoyed the experience of this diner - you definitely have to have a bit of time to kill though because the wait is usually long. But the food is really yummy and everything about it fits the hipster-indie atmosphere of the Bridgeland area.

Decent meal

My wife and I have eaten here quite a few times, as it is one of her favorite places. I think she really likes the 70's retro tables and chairs and finds the food to be fairly healthy. As for me, I think that it is a good meal but nothing to brag about, as my selection always seems to be a little on the bland side. The retro chairs can get quite uncomfortable as it usually is a rather lengthy meal service, as the place tends to be packed. A sprig of rosemary is used to garnish just about everything including desserts, which I found too much, and I love rosemary. The waiters were a little touchy when we moved a table 2 feet to be closer to others in our party. Overall, it has good food, nice ambience, and fair service, just nothing special for me.

An ever-present line-up snaking out its front door, Diner Deluxe is an Edmonton Trail brunch hotspot. Once you’re in, you can’t go wrong with the diner’s no-fuss omelets, whole-wheat buttermilk pancakes or equally generous belly-busters such as the meatloaf hash skillet and the breakfast sandwich topped with over-easy eggs and bacon or chorizo.

With two locations, Diner Deluxe serves breakfast and lunch fare until 3 pm daily. Using ethically and locally produced ingredients, the diner also does its best to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Enjoy the pulled pork hash breakfast skillet with caramelized onions, mustard, apple relish or, for lunch, the Kansas City pulled pork with bourbon barbecue sauce, slaw, apple spread and red onion on a ciabatta bun. Note: Reservations are accepted at the Aspen Landing location.

Diner Deluxe on Edmonton Trail is very popular with good reason. The 1950s decor and great menu make you want to stay and while away the morning over generous, contemporary diner dishes. Try the maple-fried oatmeal, breakfast poutine or the pulled pork skillet.
