Meet the owner

The origins of Front Row Centre Players – Calgary’s longest-running community-theatre company dedicated to staging musicals exclusively – goes back to the St. Giles Presbyterian Church Choir. In the spring of 1987, the choir presented a version of the musical Godspell. It was so successful that a group of choristers were inspired to form a musical-theatre company. And so, Front Row Centre Players was born.

As a community-theatre organization, Front Row Centre Players is run entirely by volunteers, from the executive committee to the production team to the cast. “Because it’s a volunteer commitment, you have to be here because you love doing it. We’re very big on doing passion projects” explains Darren Stewart, president of Front Row Centre Players.
