Noodles: An international commodity available in Edmonton

Though Korean food is usually known for their barbecue, they also have a lot of other dishes to offer, too. One of my favourite Korean dishes would have to be Cha Jiang Myun, a thick noodle dish that is typically served with a black bean sauce. It has a nice sweet and savoury flavour. B-Bim-Baab does this dish particularly well, and it’s a great place to try if you’re on the industrial side of Edmonton.

B-Bim-Baab is a Korean restaurant located in south east Edmonton’s industrial area. While you’re waiting for the meal to arrive, you get banchan – small side dishes of seaweed salad, bean sprouts and kimchi. For a main, I would recommend the chicken B-Bim-Baab, which comes in a sizzling hot bowl and is mixed at your table by the server. The B-Bim-Baab was delicious and incredibly filling – there was enough food for several meals.

The Korean seafood pancake is like nothing you’ve ever had before. And, try any one of the b-bim-baabs; I like the salmon but you can’t go wrong with any of them. Try the banana twikeem (breaded and deep fried with ice cream) for dessert.
