Meet the owner

“I've been a hairstylist for years now,” says mudHoney Salon owner Kim Synyshyn. Kim received her training at two different institutions in Edmonton before eventually opening her business in 2007. She has also been an educator and national platform artist for two different manufacturers. Her success, in part, is thanks to her husband, whom Kim credits with helping her find the confidence to pursue her vision.

“I wanted to create a space where hairstylists felt comfortable to create and to collaborate,” she says. That comfortable environment is key to the success of her business, as it puts customers at ease when they walk in the door. Whether they're a first-time walk-in, or a long-time regular, Kim focuses on making her clients feel great about themselves.

Seriously the best experience at a salon. I had extensions put in from someone else and they went horribly wrong but Kim saved my hair and installed beautiful extensions to boot! Super friendly and knowledgable staff. And even great conversationalist (thank god) because I was there for 6 hours while Kim, and another staff member fixed my hair. Beyond happy that I have found this place!!!

BLONDES BEWARE OF MELANIE

Melanie fried my hair. Like literally broke off at the roots. Severely messed up my color and the owner Kim has a big attitude when you complain. They did nothing to honor the "work" they did. Kim acted like it was my fault, as though perhaps I was the one who colored it ? lol The owner does not honor her employees work. The stylist I had, knew nothing about coloring blondes and if I had not stopped her from pulling bleach through to my ends, I would be bald. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON IF YOU ENJOY HAVING HAIR.

Worth every penny!

Kim (owner/operator) and Melanie have given us the best haircuts we have ever had. I have very fine, thin hair and my daughter has very thick, curly hair. My daughter used to cry when her hair was washed or combed regardless of the products used. She now brushes her own hair (she is seven) and actually looks forward to having her hair "styled". I asked Kim to do anything to my hair and was seriously thrilled with my hair. The prices may seem a bit high and are worth it, if you can afford it. Ask for an estimate first and I think repeat customers can get a bit of a deal. Lots of parking at either end of the block.
