Just an amazing family owned business. It’s a quaint and welcoming store. Perfect for a the neighbourhood. Has everything you need for a concise rant store. I remember going Masons when I was two years old and would rent VHS tapes. It’s nostalgic moving back up island as an adult and having those memories. It’s great to see the family run business still running successfully!

The store itself is great, really well stocked with a wide range of groceries for a little country store. But the staff, terrible. I was served this evening by probably the most miserable assistant in the history of store assistants. No smile, no greeting, barely spoke and then only mumbled, I tried to make conversation but she was totally unengaged. She was a bit off-putting.

I live in Shawnigan and have been to Masons more times then I can count and have had nothing but good experiences. Plus their coffee and homemade baking is really the best. I love their bread and I don't know what they put in their muffins but they are literally the best muffins I've ever had.

The manager, Aprils behaviour was appalling. My boyfriend who used to work there came in to get something, went up to the till and she proceeds to practically tell him how immature he was. He says "I've actually changed quite a bit" and I agreed with him! Then she says to me, "of course you would say that, you just want some." Realizing how fucking incredibly rude that was I suppose, she then tried to make it better by saying "or she wants SOMETHING". So unimpressed with the service I received
