One of the dangers of being a realtor experienced in selling businesses is that sometimes you find yourself as the new owner of a business that you're selling. That's exactly what happened to Dave Narod, owner of Piquant Gourmet Foods. "The business was referred to me for sale and I ended up buying it," he says. "I've no previous experience in this industry, but I love to cook. I've spent my whole life cooking."

The store offers ready-made meals as well as various types of meats, sauces and deli items. "We also carry a lot of British products, such as chocolates and meat pies. Many of our customers are of British or South African descent, so items from the UK are very popular."
