I would recommend Hamblen's Audio Service located at Almon Street in Halifax to anyone who owns vintage equipment, Sansui, Pioneer, Yamaha, Luxman etc. Brian has been working on some of my Sansui Classic receivers for almost twenty years. That is quite an accomplishment!!. I have receive top notce service from Hamblen's, a repair depot designed for Electronic Collectors in Atlantic Canada.
Absolutely top notch service delivery. Just had a vintage Sony (1971) receiver repaired and brought back to original specs. Done promptly. Done correctly and the cost was entirely reasonable. Highly recommended!
I brought two pieces of equipment to this place. They needed a part for the tv and when I got them the part they said they couldn't fix it but never called to let me know until I called them. They claimed to have fixed the other item but when I brought it home it was even worse than when I brought it there. I don't know how these guys are still in business.

The part needed for the receiver was unavailable from manufacture, they suggested a modification be done, it did not hold, and customer was given a full refund for repair bill. As to the TV, he picked it up unrepaired, then brought it back, along with the parts, 8 months later, we had no idea what had transpired in that time, or where parts came from, but they did not fix it, I don't remember who called who.
Had stereo for over a YEAR before admitting they couldn't fix. Reduced to a pile of junk not worth bringing home. Avoid this place like the plague.
