Don Cherry's Sports Grill

Great atmosphere and I love everything on the menu I've tried. Great selection of draft as well. I've heard people say service is too slow but I haven't experienced that myself. AWESOME that you have weekend breakfast!

We love this place it is one of the best places to eat in Sydney !! Staff and food are great ! Thanks for always giving us an awesome meal ! The Wednesday steak deal is the best in town ! Give it a try I am sure you will love it !

Atrocious service-50 minute wait for a simple order. Food was dry and tasteless.

Me and my friends went to Don cherry's to have some wings. We were seated, then 10 min later, the servers friends came in. 20 min later they get their food before us, and they got wings. 20min after they were served, she tells they r out of wings. so, to make it up to us, she offers us the munchies for the same price as the wings. And the beer for happy hour price. She took our new order and asked us if we wanted a drink. we all (4) said yes. then she comes back without a pop for one of our friends. poor service continued. example: -No napkins -No fork for my friends fries. -No tooth picks -No second plaites with the naptkins and hand cleaner wipes. Also, my friend that ordered a buger meal. his fries were VERY dry and his hamburger was DRY and FLAVEr-LESS. This is making us second guess if we should ever go there again.

And it's 1! 2! 3 Strikes, you're out! I have now been to 3 of Don Cherry's restaurants; the first in my home town of Saint John (that one went out of business), and in Moncton, NB, and now in Sydney River, NS. The restaruants in Saint John and Moncton I've been to more than once and in all those meals, NOT ONCE did I ever have good food. NOT ONCE!. The penultimate straw for me was the latest visit to the Sydney River location, where I had the hot chicken wings. Now, I love wings, and have had the good and the bad, and now the ugly. The wings looked incredible; BIG wings (are they sure these weren't from a turkey?), the biggest I have ever seen, anywhere, with a hot sauce nicely covering the lot. Oh Boy! Dig in! Not only were these the biggest wings I had ever seen, they were also the worst! These weren't from a turkey after all, but more likely from a seagull. The hot sauce was indeed hot, but had no taste whatsoever; the meat and whatever it was coated in was unpleasant, and underdone. However, the restaurant itself is quite nicely appointed with 5 big-screen TVs above the bar, showing sports all the time. The place is clean, comfortable, with a friendly staff and lots of good beer. As I was in here on Hallowe'en, the joint wasn't exactly jumpin' and besides, they were open later than they usually are. I don't know why, but every time I go to a Don Cherry's Sports Grill and Bar, I am disappointed. Perhaps it's just that I always seem to oreder the worst thing on the menu. One of my colleagues says I should have ordered the "ultimate" sauce on the wings, which he says is good. That being said, if you have to know which sauce to order to get a decent flavor... why bother? I still might try again, but maybe not.
