It was really crowded and the waitress threw the iPad on the table and after we ordered she complain about how we ordered way too much and that we wouldn’t be able to finish it after when we didn’t finish she told us that we cannot bring home and that we were charged a dollar for each piece that was left over including the one that she brought over by accident they had an attitude when I ask them to refill my water I was not given salt when I asked twice and they forgot three of the Item I order

My table was a large group and we were fairly young (15-16). When we recieved the bill we saw it came to a total of around $37.00 for a Weekend Dinner All You Can Eat. On our bills we saw a service charge of 15% was put on it. It seemed that this fee was put on to make sure we payed a tip. They did this because we were younger and assumed we would not tip the servers and that was not fair. We should be allowed to tip the amount we think is appropriate based on how the evening went.

Love This Place!

The family favorite! We go to the Ajax location mostly. Fantastic food. We never order the all-you-can-eat as the lunch 2 roll special is so big, you can hardly get through it, plus it's so reasonable at $6.95. We eat there once a week and order in often. We avoid ordering in any hot food as it always arrives stone cold. You just can't re-warm dumplings. Even the raw fish haters in the family find something delicious on the menu. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Service is fast and friendly. The only down side is, my husband always talks in a Japanese accent when we go....and does the same at any ethnic restaurant that we visit. He can't seem to help himself....it's very embarrassing.

Great establishment

They started serving an all-you-can-eat menu, but I have never ordered it because their bento boxes are BIG! Very good quality food preparation and portion size. My family asks for this place often and luckily they are close to where I live. Easy to drop in and always service with a smile. Intimate little restaurant serving up good value.

Great sushi place

We went out in a group of 6 for all you can eat sushi on a Sunday night and we were not disappointed. The service was prompt and I'm pretty sure they didn't forget anything. Everything was very fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Try the seafood fried rice (amazing flavour), spicy tuna, and black pepper beef. I can't wait to go again. One thing to note: it is a fairly small restaurant so make reservations in advance if you can.

Makimono is a Japanese Restaurant of exceptional quality, and that being said I eat there at least twice a week. I enjoy sushi and maki in particular and have been to many restaurants in the vicinity such as Sushi Mountain, Odines, Sushi & Rolls, etc. and still feel as if Makimono offers the highest quality, food with the most selection. I recommend it to anybody looking for a tasty, fulfilling meal, as it also serves many other dishes than just sushi alone.

Good quality and GREAT price for Take-out

I come here almost weekly for takeout, though I have been to the all-you-can-eat before. Both are good, here's why: Takeout: The lunch combos available between 11AM and 3PM are the best deal around. You choose from all of the popular rolls (I usually get a combination of spicy salmon, spicy tuna, california roll, tempura salmon, or alaska), and get free miso soup and free salad. 2 rolls (12 pieces) for 6.95 or 3 for 9.95, and if you pay cash, they give 10% discount. 18 pieces of sushi for $10.13 can easily be split 2 ways ($5 each) or saved for dinner later--quite a good deal!! Dine-in: The all-you-can-eat dinner is one of the best around in terms of variety/atmosphere, but it is also one of the most expensive. THAT SAID, if you like seaweed salad or unagi, or you're into steak, or a variety of other cooked foods, or if you like a variety of sashimi choices, these are some of the most expensive menu items, and they are all offered here on the all-you-can-eat. You'll notice that some of the cheaper all-you-can-eats leave these items off the menu, and have a very poor selection of sashimi (raw fish w/o rice). You pay for the quality items, and the variety. Also, the atmosphere is decent, not as nice as the pickering location, but its also not as busy. The ambiance is leagues ahead of T&T's cafeteria-style dining, or Sushi Mountain's cavernous, dark depths if you're comparing it to other Ajax sushi haunts, it's about the same size as Sushi & Rolls, but a little more corporate, a little less traditional in terms of decor. In terms of food, everything is always excellent, not too much rice on their maki, and hot dishes like teriyaki, tempura, and korean short ribs are always piping hot and freshly prepared. Probably some of the nicest-looking, best tasting sashimi around, and their variety of hot food items can't be beat. The miso dressing on their green salad is excellent, and I LOVE their seaweed salad, though it's served in tiny bowls, so order 2 each if you're doing all-you-can-eat. Their spicy salmon maki are not as good as Sushi & Rolls' spicy, crispy salmon rolls, though neither are as good as the Pickering Makimono's or Sakura in Pickering. Watch out, if you're used to the Pickering location, these guys don't put avacado in their spicy salmon and tuna rolls (even though it says it is included on their menu). Also, because of humidity, I've noticed that their tempura bits get a little less crunchy in the summertime--though they are still excellent. Of all the sushi places in Ajax, this place has the best and cheapest lunch takeout by far, and their dine-in all-you-can-eat is worth the price for the nice dining area and great menu selection. Enjoy!
