Great for lunch. Dinner: avoid. Better go up the street to Ban Thanh. Curries do not come with rice/noodles. Are you supposed to eat spicy curry by itself???
Nice restaurant, Pad Thai is definitely worth the visit alone. Staff is friendly and lunch service is very fast. Worth the drive to Burlington for lunch or supper.
I go here often for lunch with customers. Great portions, great presentation, great waitstaff. Very attentive to detail. I found dinner a little on the pricy side as it is without the lunch specials, but it is still a great treat, and the food is one of the best Thai in Burlington. Washrooms are a suprise. The decor is great, but the bathrooms are pretty dingy.
Had a good experience with their takeout. The siamese beef was tender and beautiful grilled, the fish sauce had the right amount of tartness and spice to compliment it. The thai shrimp curry was flavourful but a little bit too thin for my liking with an overabundance of bamboo shoots to make up for the lack of shrimp in the dish. Again, flavourful when it came to their crabfried rice with actual morsels of crab meat that was moist and delicate, but also not much crabmeat in the dish. Overall, the food was great, however, a bit pricy for the amount you get. Will return to dine in.
This place is right around the corner from us so we were up for the tasting We ordered take out - 15 min on a Saturday night! The spring rolls were excellent, but only 3 teeny things and the rice was blah. I have never tried curry so I was up for the challenge ; I enjoy spicy foods and this was just enough for me. I wasnt expecting it to be like a soup though! My husband got the pad thai - tastes just like you would get at any thai restaurant the fried bananas were AWESOME
We LOVE this restaurant and get take from here to Milton about 3- 4 times a month. My youngest kids ( 4 & 6) also love it. It's the only food my youngest eats everything of. I'm a huge fan of the curries and the lunch specials can't be beat.
We love this place. My kids (age 8 & 10) have eaten here since they were very young. Lunch is fast, excellent and a great price. Diner is a little more expensive but still reasonable. The hot and sour soup is fantastic. We always get the appetizer plater, pad thai and cashew chicken.
This is one of those places where I want to go back but usually decide not to. The food is good the price is right. However the service is terrible. I keep giving it another chance but everytime it's the same terrible service. Either forgotten items or you are rushed to get the next people in, or just plain rudeness.
I've had a lot of disappointing experiences with Thai food in general. I was craving it the other night and decided to give this restaurant a try as it is close to where I live. I ordered from the takeout menu online and the order was ready when I arrived to pick it up. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I meant to order the fresh spring rolls but was given the fried Thai spring rolls instead. It was the only mix up with the order but I enjoyed them anyway. I was not disappointed at all with the food I ordered. The dishes did not have too much sauce on them, which I think is key for me when ordering Thai food. I also ordered enough food for at least 3 people (maybe 4) so there were some leftovers and I ate them the next day.
I keep coming here for the absolutely delicious lunch specials that they offer. I've been a fan of this place ever since it opened, and the food has stayed relatively consistent since then. Though the menu prices have gone up recently (rising gas prices = rising food costs) it's still worth the current $7-$9 full lunch meal that they offer. Food: The pad-thai is a bit too sweet for my tastes and the fish cakes are nothing worth noting, but the curries and everything else are always a winner. The soup and spring roll appetizers are a particular high point. Service: Top Notch service with a sincere smile and very quick at refilling water.
The four of us go to Bahn Thai every week for lunch. The food is always delicious and served hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The staff seems very attentive and are usually very quick to fill your glass with water unless it is very busy (they are only human!). The spring rolls and garlic plum sauce are delicious and the sweet and sour soup grows on you each time you eat it. We have gone to the restaurant hundreds of times, and I don't think we have ever had to send a dish back. Excellent restaurant.
This is the best and most centrally located Thai restaurant in Burlington. The food is always fresh, hot and consistently delicious. Although they have several vegetarian options on the menu, don't be afraid to ask for one of the chicken dishes with tofu instead - like cashew tofu or spicy tofu (lunch special). All the vegetables are still crisp, even in a saucy curry, and loaded with flavour. The service is great and the take-out quick and easy. The lunch deals are perfectly priced, portioned and delicious. Don't be afraid to try the different salads and appetizers on the menu - it's all so light and fresh that you can eat tons!
This food is amazing. I've had several of the dishes, but the Red Beef Curry is by far my personal favorite. I go at least once a week with all my co-workers, and then sometimes I go a second time if I feel like getting some lunch. Totally the most amazing food. Super fast service. I don't know how they do it! Too amazing to be true!
Absolutely fantastic as always! Easily Burlington's best kept secret. VERY reasonable and great atmosphere. I will certainly be back.
Best Pad Thai & good proice for the lunch special - Recommend highly.
Everyone enjoyed their meal quite a bit, although the ones with weaker taste buds didn't like the spicyness of some of the dishes. Everything was presented very nicely, the serves were straight from Thailand and very friendly. No complaints whatsoever, but don't expect a cheap dinner. For two people with a couple of drinks you're looking at close to $60-70.
staff was very friendly and attentive but not overly! food was wonderful - both my daughter and I have had thai food elsewhere and this was delicious and well presented - perfect amount of food. I would recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere and tables etc are very nice - comfortable yet elegant in a relaxed way!
Very nice dining experience. Tasteful Thai decor, wide variety of items on the menu, nicely-prepared food. Spice level was too mild to be considered authentic Thai, but I can't really blame them since Burlingtonians love bland food. Gotta defer to the tastes of your clientele. Will ask them to turn up the heat a bit next time.
The food we ordered was amazing. The service that we had was terrible. Complete set of cutlery was not given. It took forever to get a knife. Our soup and rolls came out quick. but the remainder of our food took a very long time. The table next to us had received all of there food and had eaten and paid there bill before we even got our main course. Maybe we will go back but only for take out.
I've been going to Bahn Thai for several years now (5+) and have never been disappointed with the quality of food. I almost always get take out, but the few times I've dined in the service was quite good. Having traveled to Thailand in 2005 for a few weeks I have personal experience with 'authentic' Thai food, and this restaurant is as good as it gets when you are travelling west of Toronto.
