I have all you can eat yesterday on May 29, 2018 It costs 29.99 The food is good and fresh sushi has right size and not giant big like Bamboo Sushi It also has korean food choices Owner now is Korean and made sushi fresh I do not see they have salmon teriyaki and no red tuner It is nice to have those Will come back again 5 stars from my feedback
the servers seemed like they were sedated..all of them..didnt ask for our drink order..mumbled instructions for ordering..didnt get drinks until after food arrived..waited 20 minutes after food was wrapped up to get bill from the aloof server wandering around..not worth the aggravation!
I have been a regular customer of Red Papaya for at least three years. I have had a string of bad experiences at the restaurant lately and the last experience was the final straw for me. When we arrived at the door to be seated, we were ignored for atleast 5-10 minutes as staff talked amongst themselves behind the counter. When we were finally greeted (without so much as a smile), we were told the wait may be 15-20 mins. which was fine. While waiting for our spot, the hostess seated another couple who had just arrived without even making eye contact with us again for the next few minutes. We left and will not be back again. The wait staff is much too irresponsible and show very little interest in their job. A very frustrating experience. I
The layout of the restaurants was alright, I've been to this restaurant for 3 years already and since we went yesterday, I decided to write something about it. They charge for tea. TEA!...That's all I want to say
This is a really nice place, nice decor, bright and clean. We had only one criticism of the service... that our main courses came out a few minutes apart. The waitress was very friendly. Shrimp rolls were excellent and peanut sauce a little sweeter than other places (which I preferred). My partner was not overly impressed with his mango stir-fry (it was good but not extraordinary) but we both thought my pad thai was amazing. I will definitely return and order that again! There were lots of choices, even for someone who is gluten-intolerant, like me.
I know it's a mix of cuisines, Thai, Vietnamese, whatever...I like having it all in one place anyway :P The servers are sometimes a little slow, they're all quite young and generally a little apathetic. But the food is awesome, that's really what keeps me coming back. I prefer to call ahead for take out than dine in, since dining in takes forever because of the slower service at times.
I came on a monday night....food was excellent! I've been here before way back when they first opened and I must say that their food is better than ever! From what I remembered when they first opened, the girls who work at Red Papaya were very friendly. But when I visited there recently, our server was a blah. And on top of that the two other girls he was working with were the ones coming to us and helping us. I think we saw him only once when he dropped off our pad thai nonchalantly. He doesn't say anything and just puts it on the table...wow man, I don't know how you got this job. Anyway, I feel bad for the 2 girls working with him, they work hard. Well, guess we'll have to come by again when he's not working.
You can trick most of the people in Canada. But not us, we know Vietnamese, Thai or Indochinese food. Make up your mind, DO NOT MIX IT UP. You are making bad name for them all. By the way, your "Thai" food is truely not Thai period. However your Vietnamese' Pho is not bad. Why don't concentrate on your vietnamese food.
This place was rather quiet for a Thursday lunch time. Service was very good, very prompt. Soup was excellent and very flavourful. The noodle dish was nice, but needed a kick. Fortunately, there was sufficient hot sauce available on the table to make amends. Will return.
The veggie pad thai rocks my socks! The small order of pho could feed a small family, and the rice is out of this world! For the price and the quality, this is definitely a steal.
Outstanding - some of the best food I have ever eaten. It will now be one of our favourite restaurants!
unbelievable, i have never in my life experienced a culinary delight so profound yet so subtle that it struck me as both brilliant and terrifying at the same time, it filled me with awe and brought me to the precipice then yanked me straight back again into a world filled with spicy dumplings and mischievous egg rolls, the wait staff are beautiful and deadly, the waitress Nancy rocked my world with her intense ordering accuracy and somewhat friendly demeanor. it has become apparent to me that i would give my life for this garden of eden that men have come to call the red papaya...
great vietnamese food, this is one of my favourite places in guelph. the dish was really big and i think it's way bigger than 6 months ago since they've changed their menu (although it's not that much different), so i think they're under new management or something. the soup is better too. unfortunately, i can't pinpoint how it wasn't good before. all i remember is that it used to taste weird.
Red Papaya seems to have gotten a lot fancier since the last time I was there...slightly confusing, especially since I think what Guelph really needs is a Vietnamese place with the low prices you can get in Toronto. Food was good, the servers were kind of weird - not too rude, but slightly out of it.
meat had a nice flavor with plenty of spices. i love the sauce they give you for your dish. the dish was really filling. the shrimp rolls were expensive (vs their dishes which are priced attractively) but boy are they good so that's why i keep blowing my money on them rolls.
I think an important this that has to be noted here is that the Red Papaya on Gordon is NOT the same as the other ones. They may have the same name, but they are not affiliated and are not even nearly as good as the Gordon location! How anyone can rate this restaurant with low scores is beyond me. I visit often, and its is always PACKED full. The food is excellent, the service is incredibly fast, and the prices are very reasonable. We ordered and had our food in front of us within 10 min. I had one of the most expensive dishes on the menu at $11.95. My wofe's meal was $7.95 and included soup and salad, as well as her actually entree. Excellent experience.
The spring rolls are the best! definatly teh highliht of all my visits.
You cannot go wrong with the spring roll platter! Fast service too, although we were the only ones in there that late at night so I should hope so.
I love this place, whenever my friends come to visit I always bring them here and they are always just as happy as I am when I go. The service is great, the place is clean and the food is amazing. I highly recommend it!!!
I'm from Hamilton and there are a lot of Thai/Asian Restaurants but when i was told from a friend to go to Red Papaya, i was debating on whether to go cause its about an hour away but boy was the drive worth it for the food and service quality me and my friends recieved. The waitresses were so polite and the food was amazing, there is this one dish that i am in love with and i refuse to eat it at any other restaurant, and that is The Sea Food Rice, that was such an amazing dish and don't even get me started about there chicken wing shrimp. I could spend another hour talking about the place but that would just make me hungry for Red Papaya food. I am actually making another visit to the Red Papaya this Sunday September, 30th 2007, so i am pretty excited about that.
