Our server, Megan, was so great! She made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Food was great, but she made our meal. She explained all the covid procedures and was smiling and laughing behind her mask the whole time. That has gotta be tough on all the staff. So appreciated!
If I could rate it lower I would!!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. We had a 5:30 reservation. Waited and waited. Sold out of beef, no pasta or chicken Parmesan anymore. Apps after 45 mins I had to ask for. Kids were starving. People were sat after ya and were eating before I got up to ask for our apps. Think he forgot to put our order in? My moms stir fry, rice was all clumped together. No nealfame our complete. Will NEVER go back. So much for my moms birthday.
if i could give less than 1 star i would. Terrible food, terrible service, do not use them.
Forgot toppings that were paid for. Skimped us on the fries, bones in chicken sandwich. Driver was rude and entered the house without being invited in.
They have good hospitality. I do wish the would add veggies to the dinner plates menu.
This location is horrible (Edinburgh Rd S in Guelph) constantly bad cold food, HORRIBLE SERVICE. will tell family and friends as well as anyone reading this to go else were. there is another swiss chalet in Guelph, go there...
Love this branch, but that location was absolutely the worst Swiss Chalet I've ever visited: (1) The waiting time is very, very long. Usually I go to Swiss Chalet to have a good meal FAST. Here, we had to wait for at least half an hour to get our meals. And the waitress didn't bring what I ordered. Overall, the dinner took about an hour and a half, and we were late for a meeting. (2) I wish the staff members were as fast as they were talkative: The waitress made an inappropriate and rude comment about my friend. (3) Flies everywhere. (4) The food was cold, and the meat was tough. I am staying in Guelph for a week and will definitely not come back to this Swiss Chalet location. Complete disappointment.
This our favourite Swiss Chalet ever. We love the staff and see them often.When and if our food is not the best, they always deliver new withouta qualm. We feel like we're family when we're there.
Everything tastes the same from this place. Soup tastes like burgers taste like chicken sandwich etc. What is it with the soggy lukewarm fries? Food is awful and consistently so. We ordered a huge delivery last week and half the stuff didn't turn up with a load of other food we didn't order. Even the second order delivered later was wrong. SC gave us a discount, which was ok.
The food was great! We got it to go, and picked it up, so 'services' and 'atmosphere' are difficult to rate - I'll just put 'em at 3. Anywho, the food came fresh and hot, and was delicious: The 1/4 chicken is very filling, and the fries are like heaven. I LOVE Swiss Chalet rolls, hence my food rating (I would've had another if we got another) (plus fries & chicken). The meal we ordered was basic, nothing fancy, so if you're going there for a unique selection you might as well ignore this review altogether. Great meal! We'll be back soon, I'm sure.
this is a very good salad, however it is pricey. They do use a whole chicken breast though, so it makes up for it.
It is swiss chalet, it is what it is. Decent chicken, roasted so it is not greesy. Decent place with great sauce. Older staff, and pie was ok. For a chain, a great spot
It is always great to review the worst on the list as well, and I was amazed to see the wide ranging opinions of this place. Chicken was excellent, although I do not care for the Swiss Chalet Sauce. Chicken Soup was great, and hard to tell that is was likely mass made. Coffee was decent for a chain restaurant. Nothing outstanding. Service was actually very good. Took a little longer to have a hostess seat me than I would have liked to see, but the waitress was outstanding. Talked to a number of people around me. Pleasant reports for one and all. Older crowd seem to be here and certainly seniors looking for value. Did not have the apple crumble but the couple beside me said that is the thing to have. After the soup and chicken I had no room for desert. Next time 1/4 chicken ! Nice spot.
I am surprised to see the ratings of this place. It is always clean, and great chicken. Service is great, and food is great. Order Chicken and you won't go wrong. Sauce is amazing.
The thing about Swiss Chalet is that they make the best rotissere chicken around. The other factor which makes Swiss Chalet a hit, is that its child-friendly, had good table and take-out service and is inexpensive for dinner.
The food itself was not that bad, it is by no means anything outstanding, but for the price you pay, it is a decent meal. HOWEVER, the service on the other hand is not!! After a tremendously long wait for our meal, there was a mistake with the bill. The customer service was not only extremely rude but also belittled the customers. All in all, it was a brutal experience, definatly will not find any of the 4 of us who went there again.
There was a hair in the half chicken dinner. The food was dry, tasted as if it had been sitting out all day. Got part of the order wrong. Don't ever eat here.

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE IN GUELPH TO EAT!!! THE FOOD IS A STAPLE IN MY DIET. I LOVE IT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
We usually come to Swiss Chalet for good chicken/food and a quiet refined atmosphere. On this particular night we didn't get either. We were neglected the whole night and the simplest of starters seemed to take forever to reach us. Their perogies were good but not as good as it has been in the past. Once I finally got my chicken, the portions of mashed potatoes had once again shrunk. The chicken, satisfactory. Our side order of mushrooms were cold, slimy and slightly burnt. The Stir Fry had come out wrong from our particular instructions. With that we corrected our waitress and it was sent back into the kitchen for another half hour while I sat eating alone and her to watch. It finally came back with the corrections but without the original instructions she had clearly stated. Weighing the options to bear through it or to wait it out again, she chose the option to choke it down and move on with it. The worst experience we've ever had with Swiss Chalet. On the other hand, I recieved my dessert for free (a $6 slice of chocolate cake which was cold and hard, not fluffy and light) which was a nice thing considering but not enough to rectify this experience.
