East City Chinese Food

Absolutely disgusting! First time ordering here, lady was very pleasant but the chicken balls, shrimp and chicken wings were hard as rocks. Took food back to show them the poor quality. Will NEVER ORDER AGAIN!

All my family have been ordering from East City Chinese and although the wait was always long to get our food, it was well worth it. This New Year's Eve however was the last time we will be ordering from East City. The price had increased dramatically for less items ordered than that of previous years and the quantity was significantly reduced. Containers were much smaller. Already a busy business, seemingly successful but I guess making more money is the main goal. Very poor folks.

Terrible service!! We ordered for delivery and we were told an hour and a half. After two hours called restaurant and food had not even left the restaurant. Owner said he had an issue and everything late so could not give discount. Unreal! Such bad customer service!!!! Will never order from there again.

Lots of food for ...

Lots of food for the price but not good quality.....very bland, not much taste to it... Would not recommend, will not go again. I would rather pay a little bit more and eat good food....

Best Chinese in Hamilton

This has to be the best Chinese food in Hamilton, we are never disappointed with the food here. Only downside is that they are so popular they get extremely busy and service can be slow. if you call ahead of your needs (allow an hour for your order to be ready) then this is the place to go!

The WORST service ever. I have been to this restaurant many times. The food is okay, at best. Im not sure why all the other people are saying its the best Chinese food in the city because it is not. It is the standard fare you would get from anywhere, however the service is horrendous. The staff are rude when taking your order, we have received wrong orders on multiple occasions, and EVERY time, our order is late at least a half hour, but more often an hour. There are always people in the restaurant saying they have been waiting double the time they were told the order would be ready, and worst of all, the staff just laugh it off as if its no big deal. That is the most frustrating part. and again, when you try to say something about the long wait, you get attitude from the workers. No food, no matter how good, is worth that. And its not that good.

We are always a little leery on trying "new" Chinese take out, you find a good place, you stick with it. This place is so deceiving for a little spot in an old strip mall- IT ROCKED!!! the food was awesome! Service was OK & the atmosphere was exactly what it is- A little hole in the wall, but if you want good Chinese 2 thumbs up for "East City"

love the food the service. you may have to wait a while for your food but that is good when you go there to order it is busy and that is a good sign. I don't mind waiting because when I get my order it is so fresh and delicious and I keep going back .. it is one of the best Chinese food restaurant I have been to. and also I don't get an upset full stomach when I eat this food the shrimp egg fo yong is so good and the wings everything is good I give this place a 10 I have been going there for 5 years and the only place I will go to.. thumbs up..

Great Tasty Food

Service was alright. Food was above average. We had the beef with mixed vegetables.We enjoyed this dish a lot as the beef was so tender it just melted in your mouth! The shrimp and hot peppers was another dish we tried and we found it very tasty. The chicken wings were not the best but still adequate. Overall very good food for your money.

I had been going to this place since inception The people are nice people and prepare good food at good price making this take out arguably the best value in the greater Hamilton area But they are SLOW but they keep a great clientele by their great value proposition

A Gem on the East Mountain! Worth driving from South West Downtown to Pick-up!

We live downtown in the south west area. We haven't done take out Chinese in years because the last few places in the core area have been total disappointments. After reading all these great reviews we decided to drive all the way out to East City Chinese. It was totally worth it! Everything we ordered was fresh, not heavy on sodium or msg. The wonton soup with the big thick pork slicesand the wontons were amazing! The spring rolls were nice and light. The portions are generous and we have left-overs for two more lunches! Lemon chicken not over battered these left overs will make great sandwich filling. Because our order exceeded $25 we given another selection for free we chose the sweet & sour chicken. Total bill: $27. What a great deal! We will definately return.

This is the best Chinese take out in the city..always hot and fresh, often it does take a while to get it delivered but they are a very very busy place for a small business. You get lots of food for the price, you won't be disappointed.

Chicken balls and deep fried shimp have a ton of stuff..not all batter like most..love the cantonese chow mein...good portions and lots of left overs. I get combination plates for work occasionally and it is far more than I can eat...but I manage!

I HAVE LIVED ON THE MOUNTAIN FOR MANY YEARS, I HAVE USE D EVERY CHINESE FOOD RESTRAUNT UP HERE. AND I PREFER TO GO NO WHERE ELSE. THE SERVICE IS GOOD, PRICES RESONIBLE. AND QUICK DELIVERY. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCELLENT ANYONE WHO SAYS DIFFERENT. SHOULD TRY SOME OF THE OTHERS THEY DONT EVEN COMPARE WITH QUALITY, TASTE AND SERVICE.

This place has the worst customer service i have ever seen. They messed up my order, then expected me to pay for it again to get the food I originally wanted. They need lessons on customer service. I will never deal with these people again.
