    It's said in thei...

It's said in their Facebook page and at their door that they close at 9pm. I live nearby and this week I left home at 8, arrived there at 8:15pk and they were closed. There was a woman inside who saw us starring at the door and came to talk to us, she said they had no costumers that night and decided to close before the time. What?? There we were! We were costumers and they turned us down. My advise is: don't believe their schedule. Waste some time and give them a call before.

    Love this place!

Love this place! FAVOURITE DINER REVIEW • JUL 26, 2013 EDIT Buckwheat crepe antijitos, beef carpaccio salad, chicken ballotine and Peanutbutter honey and chocolate dessert crepe! - Last night my husband and I joined another couple at the Village Creperie. We were happily surprised to see a full chalk board of specials. We are always excited about the specials because the chef there is so talented. They were quite busy but the service was exceptional as usual. This is at least the eleventh time or so we have been there. Breakfast is also really great. My husband is a big eater and he is always satisfied with his meal. The prices are fair, the food is amazing, and the people that work there are great. I have an allergy to gluten and it is so nIce to be able to enjoy a full corse meal at at fair price when we come to this place. I wish the chef could ,prepare food for me at home all the time. Also, the people that work there are super knowledgable about the food they serve. This place is fabulous and everyone should give it a go. Oh and great wine too!

    NEED new owners...

This place really did have potential because the chef is pretty good and the gluten free options are great. I've been here 3-4 times before and besides the food being very light and expensive, haven't had an issue. I recently came in for a friend's birthday party and the waitress (who was actually the owner) immediately started spewing off menu items that were unavailable because they "didn't have time to go and get stuff". Really? After waiting for an HOUR for our appetizers (I didn't even get an appetizer, so I waited about an hour and 45 minutes for my meal) I wasn't too pleased. There are about 10 tables in this place... how busy can you get?? The food was fine, but at the end of the meal when we asked the owner if she could please split our bills, we got this word for word response.. "I'm too busy for that", and she walked away. Nobody even came by our table again for 20 minutes, and since we all had debit and no other option, we just sat there trying to decide what we could do. I swear.. That woman has absololutely no business running a restaurant. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague.

    Once Again Amazing

Another night out at The Village Creperie! My friends and I are never dissapointed with this place. The food was amazing again and the service was perfect. We had the Scallop Chowder and the Korean BBQ pork tacos. A few of us had crepes but the highlight were the specials. The specials are changing every day and it's great becuase every time we come in for a meal there is something new and exciting for us to try. Their wine list is also changing slightly which is nice for the change in season. Their food is always so fresh and the service is always lovely. We love comming to this little gem and will be there again soon! Over all I think this place is our faveorite place to go in Waterloo!

I went for lunch and spent the better part of an hour and 20minutes waiting for my meal. During that time I received a bowl of delicious pea and asparagus soup and a glass of cranberry juice. My sister...only water; we ended up asking for our meals to go. I ordered the wild salmon crepe and my sister the special which was the fish (tilapia) tacos. Needless to say eating food out of a take out container 20 minutes later does not allow me to give an accurate review of the food.

    Very dissapointed

I read the reviews and was really excited to try this place. The atmosphere was nice and our waitress was very attentive and helpful. We got some drinks which were fine and ordered our mains which came fairly fast. We got Poulet Chimichurri crepe which was a complete disappointment. I was expecting a delicate crepe with flavorful filling, but instead I got a soggy tasteless crepe with bland greasy filling. Even chicken in it was completely bland with rubbery taste to it. We also got Espagnola crepe which was another let down. Pinto bins, red peppers, celery, calamata olives is a terrible mix, it tastes like a bunch of randomly picked flavors mixed together, topped with too much cheddar on a soggy crepe. I was going to try Dulce de Leche everyone is raving about, but we were too disappointed to stay for dessert.

    Ok, but ...

Nice little restaurant, cute, cozy, interesting food choices. BUT, they really put the boots to you if you order wine with your meal. A $28 bottle of wine at a fancy restaurant will set you back $45 here.

    Must Try

Located in the cozy block of Belmont Village, is a little restaurant called The Village Creperie. Here they serve Traditional Crepes made just like they make in France. But to my surprise, they also serve other wonderful dishes that are not in crepes. I had such a nice dinner here the other night. We came in expecting crepes and found a board full of delicious specials that were that of a French bistro. It was nice to have a choice. Some of our party ordered crepes and others ordered specials from the chalk board, which was full of delightful looking things. I wish could have tried all of them. I ordered the Appetizer special which consisted of Melted brie, sautéed medley of mushrooms, onions, truffles in a buckwheat crepe. For my main course I hugely enjoyed pork chops with braised cabbage and apple chutney and rosti (which I know you cannot get anywhere in waterloo!) The blends of flavours were rich and harmonious. For dessert I thought I would try a sweet crepe that was stuffed and rolled with blueberry and crème fraîch, as light as air, tangy and simply wonderful. The Friendly young woman at the door who greeted us was very nice; we later learned that she was the owner’s granddaughter and recent cook in the kitchen. She was able to tell us a lot about the history of the place and the new chef well. It’s nice to see people involved in every aspect of their business and being able to talk with her was a pleasure! The rest of the evening was perfect with exceptional service the whole way through. My friends and I dine out often and this was one charming little place that we will surely return to and hope you do the same! Mains 12-20$ (full bar)

Amazing crepes! (and damn good coffee)

I tried the Village Creperie today and it was fabulous. They had daily specials available for brunch (only the breakfast menu was available at that time of day) and I ordered one of their specials. It was amazing. All of my companions enjoyed their meals thoroughly. They were also willing to customize dessert crepes which I thought was pretty awesome. I must also mention the stellar coffee and great atmosphere. I will definitely be going back for more.

    Sunday dinner

The Village creperie needs a name change! The new chef their has now introduced "sunday night dinners" He's a recent grad of the stratford chef's school and is the new talk of the town! I had the great pleasure of enjoying his food at their first sunday night prifixe dinner. Everyone in waterloo needs to sing up for this thing. Its so good that they are doing them on sunday nights aswell since there is no place better to go on a sunday night for dinner. My friend and I paid 60$ for a four course meal fit for kings and queens. There is NOTHING at all bad I could say about this. Check out their facebook page or give them a call about these semi secret dinners. you will not regret it. My course included a glass of bubbly persecco, a cantalope and prosciutto salad with this amazing dressing. second came the crisp pork belly with white bean hash and peach chutney, third came this perfect roasted beef striploin and for dessert we had a vanilla sponge cake. I wont list everything but lets just say this place has a lot going for it with this new chef in town. I would suggest calling about these dinners to find out when the next one will be happening. I know i'll be there again. I'm thinking there may be some big changes happening with this place. The Crepes are amazing but this new chef sure knows how to create one perfect meal!

    Talk of the town!

I was in for brunch at this place. I didnt know that you could eat crepes for brunch. They were so delightful. Aside from the menu the board was packed full of amazing brunch specials. From eggs any style with organic sausage to their waffle with fresh raspberries, chocolate and creme fraiche! Everything looked so good I wanted to eat it all. I was lucky to try all of the things on my other parties plates. They even had confit of duck with melted brie cheese on toast with blueberry presserves, It was so amazing. There is no place else in kitchener waterloo I will go for breakfast again! The coffee was supurb and the service was pretty good considering this little place was PACKED! they dont take reservations for breakfast so take your chance and swing by around 11 becuase that seemed to be their "down"time before the late brunch goers show up. The atmosphere was perfect. I felt super cozy. I really enjoyed this place and would suggest that everyone in town trys it out!

Little place, was cute, server was friendly but seemed to forget about us and it wasn't that busy. Took forever for her to get to us initally, our food came fast but wasn't the greatest-the kind of meal you need to stop for a burger afterwards. The crepes weren't crisp they were soggy and not hot hot. Took forever for bill, drinks to be refilled etc. Lots of options on menu-we all had something different but no one was thrilled with their meals.

I'm sorry but this was just bad

I'm sorry.......want the good news first? nice decor , friendly service . We thought we'd check it out because of the great reviews but we were mislead. Our food was blah , below average , mediocre sorry to say. The crepe itself was a large but tasteless, heavy and dry. All the Crepes we have enjoyed are usually characterized by the lovely delicate tasty thin pancake that is filled with scrumptiously delicious ingredients and accompanied by a luscious sauce --- ours could not be described this way. My guest and I agreed that both of our crepes were just not yummy.
