It was pretty decent. We got the beef wrapped in pancake, smoked pork with pancake and shrimp dumplings. It's a lot of carbs, so you get full pretty quickly. If I had to do it again, I would get one pancake dish and two types of dumplings instead. Didn't care much for the fact that they only take cash.
If you love pig intestine and other innards in your dumplings then I highly recommend this place! Howeverf you want edible dumplings for humans, then go to a supermarket and pick up an expired bag of frozen dumplings, it's still less disgusting then what they serve.
First of all, I would like to say it is the best dumplings I've had in Toronto, hands down. HOWEVER!! Saw mice running around on their floor when I went there a few days ago. Never go there again!! They leave their doors open all summer long because they are too cheap to pay for air conditioning. Saw mice run in and out of their place just in the short time I was sitting there.
i love this place!! the food is great! i urge ppl in the area to try it. the portions are large and very affordable. the dumplings come in huge steamer baskets, and it's about $5 for 15 dumplings. they have 2 women in the front of the resto making the dumplings and they make their own wrappers here as well. the dumplings are flavorful and the wrapping is very tender. the noodles are also freshly made. they are thick and very chewy. it's about $5 for a large bowl. the broths are simple but very flavorful, when having the noodles, the best sidekick is an onion pancake. the one with the egg is superb. it is like a pita, but stuffed with egg and green chinese chives ($4). the outside is the same batter as the normal onion pancake ($2). the plain pancake is very popular. it's not bad but a little dry for me. the one with the egg is the way to go and well worth the extra $2. the service is OK, they try their best. they are friendly but only speak mandarin. the menu is also in chinese, there is an english version as well but you have to ask for it. the resto is small, most of the tables are 2-4 seaters with one 8 person table. the hours are from 11-11 and it's usually 50% full most of the time. i've been several times this past month since discovering it and i love it! it's a place that i can't wait to return to. i find myself craving their dishes. this place is worth a try, a dinner for 2 will run you $20 total (with tax and tip!) for a very large amount of good food.
