Terrible, and I can usually manage to find something good to say about anything! We ordered take-out, and the coconut curry panang was cloyingly sweet, while the pad thai with chicken and shrimp was a sweet gloppy mess, with ZERO chicken in it, and 4 of the oldest, stringiest shrimp you could find. For a $30 meal of 2 dishes, it was VERY disappointing. Possibly the worst meal I've had in a very long time....compelled me to register for restaurantica just to write this review...
I had read reviews of this place on this site and decided to give it a try. I was definitely impressed! It is nestled in the corner of the plaza next to Starsky's. It was hard to find at first. Once we walked in, we were impressed with the decor and the layout of the restaurant. It is small but quaint, with lots of room for parties. The servers were very kind and attentive. We had first ordered the crabmeat wonton. I liked it, but had hoped the wonton would have been more stuffed with cream cheese as it only had a bit of cream cheese and the rest crabmeat. The beef pad thai was delicious, it was filled with flavour, with a choice of two sauces which were put on the table for us. The sweet sauce went great with the pad thai. I was impressed with everything and will definitely be back!
Creamy coconut chicken Penang is my favourite. Delicious. I have been dragging people to this gem of thai restaurant for 4 years now. Our most favourite place to eat ever. We often order take out from Bamboo Legend when we have family and friends over because everybody I know who has eaten food from there, loves this place. It also gains top vote from our children.
My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday upon reviews that the food was really good... HOWEVER, when I got my meal I noticed that some of the red onions used as garnish had mould on them.. I picked them out to show to the server who asked if I would like another meal.. I said yes and that I would just like it to go.. well, today at lunch I go to eat this newly prepared meal.. and what do I find? A black hair.. my hair is blonde, so it can not be mine. So very much disappointing. The owner only took off 50% of my meal (which was $15.99 because I got the seafood pad thai).. Just such a waste of money.

Found this place after several of referrals from our friends claiming that this is the place to go for comfort food in oakville...we couldnt agree more!
My wife & I just love this place! We are huge supporters of small local bussiness and are always on the lookout for a nice place to treat our family.
We found this restaurant to be unpretentious and cozy but most importantly the food is by far one of the best things to have happened to this end of Oakville! Our kids are in love with the drunken noodles and spring rolls or what they refer to as dwunken oodles and spwing wos, as for my wife and I, we are on a mission to try everything on this menu and so far havent been dissapointed with any! The fresh rolls and creamy curry chicken is my wifes all time favorite and I cant seem to get enough of the calamari and cashew chicken, only regret is that we took so long to try this place out! more than exceeded our expectations!
The place is dirty and the decor is ridiculous. Dusty curtains and dusty tired looking silk flowers greet you at the entrance. We should have never go further but we invited a friend for her birthday lunch and the place was her pick.
We placed our orders and when finally the food came and the server managed to sort it out ( she brought half of our order all wrong) we could not touch it as it looked and smelled absolutly disgusting! We were not asked why we sent the food back untouched! The server said that we should eat the soup as it's complimentary! We were outraged. We asked for the bill and after a while we decided to go to the counter and pay as nobody bothered to bring our bill. So ridiculous!

If you order the Basil fried rice, maybe ask for not so much basil, I found it to be overkill. I usually get the Deep Fried Tofu to start and the veg n tofu green curry as a main, never been disappointed, not once.
Only complaint is that they are more expensive than I expect which keeps me from going there as often.
This is the best food in Oakville......and the best service, with no attitude....prompt too. What can I say about value-for-money? Haven't found anything better in Oakville...or Toronto for that matter. The ambience is truly amazing...warm and tropical. Light music in the background. I take all my guests there.

It is my favorite restaurant this side of Toronto. What makes it doubly good is looking at the bill at the end - extremely good value. Every once in a while a real gem comes along. Highly recommended.
We have been to this restaurant numerous times. It is one of our favourites. Reasonably priced too. The atmosphere is lovely. Service is incredible -- attentive, efficient, and pleasant. But the story is the food -- it is outstanding. I've tried a variety of dishes and taken different friends to share the experience and it has always exceeded our expectations. Very flavourful and tasty food that is nicely presented. I doubt that anyone would be disappointed. I'm happy to recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.
