The food at this place is delicious and I don't mind the cafeteria style serve yourself setup. My only qualm would be that it's pretty pricey so I personally won't be eating there all the time but every once in a while it's a welcome treat.
The service was horrible. I called first and they said no problem for a larger group - come on in; it will be no issue at all I was told. Upon arrival the hosts made it very hard to get a table, our whole party had to arrive before they would seat us, we had to order first, they would not begin to arrange a table until we ordered; then they set up a table that was too small for us; then when I complianed I was told we could eat outside (it was a raining cold day) - very unprofessional. It was so simple to fix the problem, they just asked the people next by to move one table which they were happy to do but instead of doing that first the host got me into a very uncomfortable, long conversation about how unreasonable I was being (I was reminded they don't take reservations over and over, then presented with options that were just not viable). Later the manager came to see if he could help and instead of helping he reminded me about no reservations and that he doesn't prefer one client over another - all I had asked for was a table that could fit our entire party. He then told me that the option to eat outside was reasonable, and did I really understand what an otpion was? I was completely insulted. I finally asked him to leave me alone since he was doing nothing to help the situation he only was making it worse. The food: One person ordered Salmon which was so salty it could not be consumed - she complained of needing to drink water all afternoon. I made a special request for mine to avoid a cambozola cheese yet it was still added to part of the dish. Other people reported the food to be OK; others couldn't eat it as it was soggy and not at all tasty.
You grab your own table and order your meal and drinks from the counter. Water is self-serve from the counter. Don't expect any more service than to have your table cleared. If you are tired of being fussed over at the restaurant and just want to take your time and eat in peace this is the place.

I also can't believe that there aren't more reviews for this place. i have been going to this place for years and have never been disappointed. the menu consists of gourmet hot sandwiches (all under $10), soups and salads, thin crust pizzas, pastas (after 5PM) and amazing Sunday brunch. In addition there are specials every day. the quality of ingredients is impeccable, the presentation is tremendous and it's all affordable. make sure you try the ceasar salad and manhattan seafood chowder, they are to die for. If this place would franchise, i would be the first in line.
