Amazing deep-fried chicken wraps!

Absolutely delicious food which is decently priced and affordable. Great for lunch of even supper, fun to be on the patio in the market during the summer!

I went there on a Saturday morning. I will give it some leniency for the less then spectacular dining experience I had there. I order chicken and steak fajitas for the three of us. The vegetables were fresh and the food came out in a timely manner. However, the fajitas were just okay and the service was something not to be desired. The waitress wasn’t attentive. I had to wait till the end of my meal to get the BBQ sauce which I got charged for and for my ice teas to be refilled. I didn’t have to wait nearly as long for my bill to arrive. When I asked the waitress to explain to be what’s the difference between the style of wings she gave me a look as if I was an idiot or how dare I make her stand there and answer questions. Even though I had already explained to her I have never been there. I was ready to write off this restaurant when the manager came out herself to talk to me. Certainly did save the experience, but this restaurant is definitely on parole. Next time, I will try to go at a busy time...maybe food and service will be better.

I would recommend the fajitas (chicken is better) and the calimari, the quesadillas, and the garlic bread. Avoid the overpriced quaeso cheese

The steak - not good! Poor quality and rubbery. Surprisingly the service was excellent - attentive but non-invasive. If I were to visit again I would try the fajitas.

Enjoy family-style dining at these Ottawa restaurants

Enjoy family-style dining at these Ottawa restaurants

The now ubiquitous Lone Star chain was first launched in Ottawa in 1986 by a couple of Texas boys playing for the former Ottawa Rough Riders CFL team. Today there are six locations in Ottawa alone (and over two-dozen across Ontario) and the ByWard Market outpost is extremely popular with the university crowd. If you’re looking to dine family style, the sizzling fajita meal can feed easily feed one to three people. The top protein choice is the mesquite-grilled chicken and steak combo served with unlimited fresh tortillas and fixings of cheese, lettuce, sour cream and diced tomato.

Get cheesy with Ottawa’s best mac and cheese

Mac n' cheese bites are Lone Star Texas Grill’s variation on mac and cheese. This appetizer is crispy-fried and served with tomatillo pepper and ranch dip. It makes a great dinner companion to Lone Star’s Southern-fried chicken finger dinner, which is tossed with their Texas butter sauce and served with Texas coleslaw and fries.
