Best authentic Italian cuisine you will get in Toronto. Family ran, with warm service and lots of love and price put into the food. The marinella sauce is to die for! Everything fresh and made from scratch. You will not go wrong here!

Our company was looking to host our holiday party here, but definitely not anymore. No one ever answers the phone (sure they're closed Monday's, but they're open the other days). When I couldn't reach anyone by phone I tried to email them, but any response I received (if any) did not answer my questions. It took two weeks for them to finally confirm that they could not accommodate us. It was just a total waste of time. As a restaurant, this lack of customer service is not acceptable.

Don't waste your time or money.

Overpriced, lousy food, rude service. Can't think of anything positive to say about this restaurant. We had the Veal 3 ways. Paid $49!!!!! for an overcooked (we asked for it medium), pasta with sauce that tasted like it came out of a can (can't remember the price, but far more than the $2.49 I could have paid for a pasta with Hunt's tomato sauce). Can't figure this place out. Ambiance is OK, kind of lame middle of the road restaurant, but priced like a high end restaurant with diner quality food. Actually, diner food is better. Oh yes, also had a caesar salad with tired lettuce and kraft like dressing. Don't waste your time or money. Avoid at all costs.

We went to Marinella for my wife's 40th birthday. The restaurant was very busy so we had a drink at the bar before we were seated. Our martini's were great. We ordered Seafood Marinella, Calamari Fritti and Antipasto Platter. For entrees we had lamb 3 ways, pappardelle giovanni, and two pizzas. Let me tell you my lamb was one of the best meals I ever had. The pizzas we thin and crispy and the pasta was great as well. For dessert I had the tiramisu, they even make their own cheese! I will definitely be back, everything from the food, to the drink, and the service was exceptional.

Went there for my birthday celebration. The food...

Went there for my birthday celebration. The food was pricey, but unfortunately very poor quality. Our waitress wasn't very observant, and made a few mistakes during the course of the night. (Brought the wrong wine, forgot to specify how we wanted our pizza done, after we specified it TWICE, and as it turned out, misinformed us of the pasta that went with our main course) After we politely brought this to her attention, nothing was done to compensate our table for her mistakes. Very disappointing.

Eat vegetarian at these Toronto's Little Italy restaurants

The real Italian neighbourhood in Toronto may have migrated northwest of Little Italy but as long as places like Marinella remain, the identity will endure. Vegetarian starters include Giardiniera all Romana (pickled vegetables) and Friulano (sweet cow’s milk cheese). Follow with a meat-free main of wild mushroom risotto, gluten-free pasta or the Funghi (mushroom) pizza. Visitors rave about the dessert menu which changes regularly.
