Time to find a new Irish pub - unfortunately

Our server must have been having an off night. She visited us at the beginning of the night for drink/food orders, then didn't come back... I had to seek her out in the bar for every single round of drinks needed (4-5 rounds of beer / tequila). For such a huge establishment, it was almost comical how they seemed to run out of our beer choices as the night progressed. Atmosphere on the 2nd floor was great. Man and guitar took requests and did a good job providing entertaining tunes. Food has gone downhill recently, I know not to expect excellence at a pub, but the fare was really sub-par. Ravioli was swimming in 2 inches of runny creme sauce, quesadilla had a weird flavour and was 'droopy' no crunch to the tortilla, suicide wings were a little more than medium spicy. On the bright side, nothing was raw. I'm thinking it's time to find a better Irish pub in the west end, I'm sure there's plenty.

when the staff are more fun than your friends... Food is typical pub fare; generous helping for a good price. they have good drink special especially on thurs and sundays. the atmosphere really depends on the night: I've been there during the week when it was really mellow, and then the weekends get crazy busy! The service is pretty standard, but in the summer on the AMAZING roof top patio, the staff really run around like mad. Great spot to spend in the summer

Place was great, draft was perfect temp and the food came out hot and quickly. Even the fries were fresh and hot. Will be back for sure. Want to try out their roof top patio next summer.

We had a meeting in the vault so the waitstaff seemed to forget about us. the outside crowd loved to stand in the aisle so we couldn't get back in. It appears that the regulars go there to be seen. The food was excellent, however.

Mondays are the most popular nights at Pauper’s because of the cheap pint prices from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. And, even on Christmas, you can still pay Pauper's a visit because their first floor is open every single day of the year. Make sure to check out their rooftop patio when the weather’s warm for one of the best unobstructed views of the city. They also have live music upstairs on Thursdays.

One of Toronto’s oldest pubs also happens to be one of the Annex’s best spots for a pint and a burg, or a cheap Sunday Caesar. It’s all charm at Pauper’s – the twosome velvet-covered booths and gold railings create the unmistakeable vibes of a classy British watering hole, while the selection of local craft beer and upgraded pub fare make it an eatery worthy of every Toronto foodie’s palate. Oh, and did we mention the rooftop patio? It’s one of Bloor Street’s best for weekday lunch or a weekend meeting spot for you and your thirsty pals.
