Very Noisy

Have heard lots of great stuff about this place. The authentic Neapolitan pizza was very tasty. We found the restaurant to be extremely noisy to the point we were screaming at each other and still had a hard time having a conversation. The pizza is impressive and I would like to go back, but don't think I can handle the loud noise so I will definitely be ordering take out the next time

Chewy thin crust, fresh ingredients. Worth the wait.

Outstanding

Ambience is outstanding. The restaurant has a real urban feel that makes going out for pizza truly entertaining. I can make great pizza at home, but I go out for something I can't get at home. The old building with stencilled letters on the window as an invitation to an authentic Italian-American experience. The ingredients were very fresh and perfectly prepared. I don't feel the need to exaggerate, since I've had great pizza in Amalfi, Naples, Hamilton, and New Haven (aka New York Style), and this place, with all the hype, did not disappoint.

not impressed

I kept hearing how this place is so great.. I do not see what the hype is about. the pizza was very soggy, we had to wait an hour just to sit at the bar. I was expecting way better pizza. I will not return

Decent Pizza

I visited this place for the pizza with a few friends; we ordered 7 different pizzas and shared. Overall, all the pizza bases had a decent texture, with the crust cooked to crisp. The dough, although a little bread-like, was better than most pizzas I've had in Canada, The pizza toppings, in most of the different pizzas we ordered, were undistinguished. Where after the first couple of slices, the flavors of the 7 different pizzas we had ordered started to blend into one general Margherita flavor. The usually spicy fragrant oils of oregano did not really come through for me. I had to help myself to generous drizzles of chili oil to enhance the flavor of the pizza. One exception was the Duck Confit pizza. The richness of the duck meat well balanced with sweetness of pear left a lasting impression on the palate. It was my favorite pizza that night. As for Quattro Staggioni, which is one of my favorite pizzas in general - Libretto's Quattro Stagione pizza was disappointing. The choices of ingredients for each season were undistinguished and this just added the pizza to the list of "Margherita" varieties. We had a few bottles of wine which probably doubled our final bill. The atmosphere of the place was pleasant, and relaxing.

The wait was long, but well worth it. We had to wait 45 minutes to get seated. There was a table of 8 at the front window that had finished their meal as we had arrived, they stayed there chatting for 45 mins before the staff kindly asked them to wrap things up so that others could have the table. It's not often you have that happen, and in our case it was very welcome. After having been seated, we chose a bottle of wine from the great menu and ordered our pizzas. They had the bottle on our table in 5 minutes and the pizzas in 10. Fantastic, Friendly, Professional and Enthusiastic server put the finishing touch on a great dining experience

read a review in the Toronto Star and was dying...

read a review in the Toronto Star and was dying to try it. We left on our first attempt because of the line-up, so the next time we made sure to be there before the doors opened. OMG we loved it, so much so, we took a pizza to go. I wasn't thrilled with the appetizers, so would skip next time. Delicious pizza - can't wait to go back!

Indulge at the Toronto Food and Wine Festival

Take it from an expert: when someone hands you a gourmet, deep-fried mini-pizza, here’s what you do: 1) say thank you and 2) hang around for seconds. Sample the compact creation from one of Toronto’s most beloved pizzerias, which features the spot’s signature straight-outta-Italy tomato sauce and a healthy dose of stacciatella cheese, sprinkled (of course) with fresh basil. Libretto chef Rocco Agostino will also act as one of the official judges of the Heritage BBQ competition on Friday night, a pork battle of epic proportions.

Where to enjoy prix fixe dining all year long in Toronto

Where to enjoy prix fixe dining all year long in Toronto

Technically this prix fixe is only available at lunchtime, but we’d be remiss to ignore Pizza Libretto’s incredibly popular weekday three-course menu. For just $15, fill up on a primi salad course, signature Margherita pizza, and a scoop of gelato or biscotti to finish. Bellissimo!
