Meet the owner

Brothers Stephen and Matthew Howell were fated to go into business together. The two had studied at George Brown College, with Stephen in the culinary end and Matthew focusing on the front-of-house and business management. After graduating, the Howells cut their teeth at various restaurants, butchers and eateries over the years.

In 2011, determined to start a place of their own, Stephen and Matthew put their savings together and opened The White Brick Kitchen at Bloor and Euclid. Since then, the restaurant has collected stores of accolades, appeared on “best-of” lists across the city and, in 2015, earned a spot on the Food Network TV series You Gotta Eat Here!
