Stll the best in Town

I've tried a few places in town now, and my family and I still find the Dearborne has the best Value. The food is excellent, and they're one of the few places that still use homemade homefries. The service is just what i want on a Sunday morning: fast friendly and unpretentious.

We were here for breakfast on a Saturday at 8am just as they opened. The floor was filthy dirty and there were fries from the night before under our table. Also heard the waitresses yelling at each other that the coffee pots were dirty from the night before!!

I found the waitress was friendly and funny. The service was fast a little to fast the eggs where under cooked and soggy the bacon looked burned and was cold. The potatoes where the best thing on the plate. I asked the another waitress if she would take it back with a disgruntled look she said I'll get your waitress as if that would make a difference to the meal I got. My buddy asked can you smell smoke it seem like it was coming from the back of the restaurant. I would never go there again.

We go to the Dearborn often for breakfast. The food is always good and service as well. The only thing I am noticing now is that the place is starting to look worn and dirty. The front entrance floor has not been cleaned for a long time, there are cob webs in the corners. The wall next to our table had dried ketchup on it, and the bathrooms are starting to look unkept. it makes you wonder what the kitchen is like if they do not maintain the public areas. Just an observation.

I have heard a number of good comments about this restaurant and had been there myself years ago, so I thought we should try it again. Big mistake. They took approx. 10 minutes to seat us and the table wasn't clean when they did. The waitress took way too long to take our orders, bring our food, and refill the coffee. When the food came, the bacon was burned and the eggs were overdone. To top it off, we could clearly hear the cook yelling (yes, yelling) at the wait staff in the kitchen from where we were sitting. I wanted to go back there myself and tell him to shut up! Awful, just awful experience. We'll never go back there again.

Excellent little spot, good service, traditional meals, great breakfasts. Definately check this place out if you're looking for a casual place to get a bite to eat, want good service and good food.
