Meet the owner

Vincent Puorto studied economics at McGill University and then went into business for himself. He launched a chain of video stores that was so successful that he sold his 17 locations to Videotron. The company then brought him on board as the general manager of the stores, a position he held until being recruited as general manager for Blockbuster Canada.

During his career, Vincent met brothers Nick and Anthony del Baldo, one an entrepreneur, the other a trained chef. The trio launched a bistro in Rosemère, which they ran for seven years and then sold because in 2009 it was time for a new project. “We wanted to do something different," recalls Vincent, "so we decided to offer an authentic Italian experience on the Plateau.” The three, all of Italian origin, launched Artigiani Pizzeria on November 13th, 2009.

Very nice cozy place to eat. Food is excellent with great service. Bathrooms are clean and wheelchair friendly. Great wine cellar. I have been here a few times and the owner Nick, is always happy to see you. Its always nice to have the Chef Anthony come to say hello at the table. The pizza is cooked in a real wood stove and is the best in the city. Make sure you have reservations for the week-end. They will try to seat you but its not always guaranteed.

Chef Anthony Del Balso, who runs this popular Italian restaurant on the Plateau, awaits you with a three-course meal for $31, with a starter of baked pears with blue cheese and walnuts or tomatoes with Burrata cheese and basil. For the main course, you have the option of a beef stew with tagliatelle pasta or a pizza with snails, mozzarella and caramelized onions. For dessert, you’ll have to choose between an Italian puff pastry (Sfogliatelle) or a bowl of strawberries with sweetened ricotta and balsamic vinegar.
