Introduced last year, Fonda Lola’s brunch is a must try for anyone who loves Mexican cuisine. The menu includes items like tacos filled with egg whites, bacon, crema and salsa roja, spicy eggs benny and tequila-infused granola, yes you read that right. Fonda Lola does not take reservations (sob).
A little bit of Mexico in the Distillery District, El Catrin offers its Mexican brunch weekends and holidays until 3 p.m. The menu includes French toast Mexican style, with mango, whipped ancho chilie mascarpone and salsa roja. Sweet stuff includes churros and panqueques - Mezcal maple syrup, whipped cream and fresh fruit. Reservations are available.
Margarita slushies are on the brunch menu at El Trompo. The Kensington Market eatery has a small brunch menu, but it packs a punch. From huevos rancheros to tacos al pastor, all the favourites are there. El Trompo does not take reservations.
Brunch enchiladas anyone? That alone should be enough to get you out of bed and into Milagro’s. The brunch menu is filled with delicious Mexican eats like the Dos Huevos with 2 eggs any style, papas hash, refritos, toast and smoked bacon, plus its famous churros, served with milk caramel.
This Etobicoke eatery is under the radar, but it won’t be for much longer. Huevos Gourmet serves a few Mexican staples on its menu like huevos rancheros, a breakfast quesadilla, and a breakfast burrito. While the menu might be small, it’s definitely a must-try! The brunch is offered every day.
Available Saturdays, El Caballito serves up an authentic Mexican brunch! Feast on the Taco de Canasta which is made with handmade corn tortillas, pabalano mashed potato, chicken millanese and guac. You can’t leave until you try the churro pancakes, served with chocolate chips, piloncillo syrup and fresh fruit! El Caballito accepts reservations.
El Local Loco just opened on Church Street and the brunch offerings are quite extensive. All the Benedictos come with home fries, avocado and cilantro hollandaise sauce! It also serves Churro French Toast, breakfast poutine with a Mexican twist and chorizo burritos. The brunch is served Saturday and Sunday.
