I absolutely love this place! Although the atmosphere of this restaurant is rather dark, gloomy, and sketchy, they have one of the best steaks and lobster in town.
Usually we order bbq ribs and potato fries for appetizers.
These appetizers are usually mediocre.
As for the entree we always order the rib eye steak as well as 2lb-4lb lobster.
The rib eye steak at House of chan is one of the best steaks I have ever had. The steak at House of Chan melts in your mouth as you eat it. This type of steak should only be eaten if you enjoy the natural taste of steak, and are expecting no additional added flavours.
The lobster is usually just as good as the steak. They offer you a rich butter as a dip. I really enjoy this dish as well.

I took my son to Swiss Chalet two weeks ago for a chicken dinner (1/4 with fries). Consistently good. The waitress was attentive, and knew how to keep the baby at the table next door happy (crackers, crayons, drinks... STAT!). When my wife and I went out for dinner the next week, where did my son go? Swiss Chalet. He is somewhat of a picky eater... So, great review.

The management company of our apartment building treated 700 - 1,000 residents to the most delicious BBQ lunch provided by BBQ Gourmet. We had smoked Texas brisket, Nashville Spiced chicken and Scandinavian Style hot smoked salmon together with other treats. The directions were easy to follow and the food was ample for two meals. Good things are worth waiting for!
The food here was AMAZING and likely the best Middle Eastern cuisine in Toronto. And being Middle Eastern and quite critical of Middle Eastern cuisine myself, take my word for it.
The Filet Mignon and Chicken are incredibly moist and tender. MUST HAVES !!! Hummous and Baba Ganoush were just barely behind my moms!
We've held two medium size functions in this restaurant (20-30 people) including a baptism. We were initially worried about pleasing everyone (its rare that EVERYONE really enjoys the food anywhere), however, that was the case BOTH TIMES! Italians, Greeks and Arabs, ALL LOVED IT.
I recently read some so so reviews and felt it was important to share our own experiences so that others would have the opportunity to taste the food and not be deterred.
Its true the atmosphere is ok and the service may be just ok, but the food makes up for anything!!!
Try it! You will not regret it !!!

Hey, so its your standard greasy spoon. Quick service with a open kitchen so you can see whats going on. I work about two blocks away so I eat there probably 2 times weekly on average. I have never been let down. 5.95 for a lunch special that is more than I can eat, although Im sure that some ppl would have little problem ingesting the mountain of food. Reasonable price, good food nice selection.

After hearing it about from a coworker I decided to visit the Sizzler myself since I work on Woodbine. Although I passed the place a couple of times because I thought'd it be more "eye catching", it looked like any typical family/homey environment in a way. I ended up ordering breakfast to go.
The service itself was great because the people there were very friendly and polite. My kind of style! =]. And when I tasted the food, it was awesome! The food itself was very good. They gave great portions and it wasn't greasy at all which made it so great! Normally I dislike eating breakfast outside because of the amount of oil they used but this place served it really good. I'm happy. Oh, and the price was awesome for breakfast!

If you have a party of six and want to eat during dinner house, make a reservation. There are lineups at dinner time with hungry duos and foursomes forming a line that snakes all the way to the cases of steaming ducks, chickens and succulent pigs where you can get fantastic BBQ takeout. I once took a couple of pounds of BBQ pork to a small birthday party, and it was all gone by the time my spouse parked the car. This restaurant provides excellent food at reasonable prices if you order the dinner for 4, or 6, or however many there are in your party. The menu is fixed, but flexible in the choice of appetizers. The meal begins with broth, and appetizers but ends up with so many different dishes that the table groans. The food is fresh and dellcious homestyle Cantonese cooking. The waiters are generally efficient and capable of handling the crowds on weekends. Lots of free parking.
