This neighbourhood restaurant has great daily specials that include cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, liver and onions, and seasonal turkey dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas. While it is not much to look at, it is clean, friendly, and safe. The drinks are cheap - $4 for a Smirnoff ice, and it is a place where the ladies from Queen Street churches can go for a tea on Sunday after the morning church service. Not overly imaginative, but functional and good service.

A grilled cheese with no meat taste! Wow, what an invention! And all for about $15. No special ingredients, just a straight up diner with really great, acomodating service. Run by a family. Looks sketchy from the outside, but its really quite clean. Their fries are don't have any other taste (like meat or fish), the coffee is quite decent and a good size too for the price, and the cheese is always completely melted with RIPE tomatoes. In the heart of winter, what a pleasure. I think they are open everyday.
