Holly Montgomery discovered the raw food movement as a solution to her pet boxer’s health problems. After being advised by the breeder towards a certain brand of dry dog food, and the resulting six months of further health issues and frustration, she found Tail Blazers. “They taught me about the correct diet for dogs,” Holly says. “Once I switched my boxer to their recommended diet, she was healthier within a couple of days. That was what got me interested in how healthy food benefits our pets.”
Holly and her mother Carie bought a Tail Blazers franchise in 2006 to help bring more healthy pet food options to the people of Alberta. Since dogs and cats have different diets than humans, they need different types of food. “Not just the mass-produced recipes that have almost no nutritional value,” Holly says. “We are really picky about the food sold here.”
