We have been going there for the past 1.5 years and todate they are the most honest and cost effective garage around. Tried others but always came back to them. Great service and advice all the time.Keep up the good work

    I live in Halifax...

I live in Halifax, but I ALWAYS take my car to The Other Guys Automotive! Andre and his team are trustworthy, and they really know their stuff. It's absolutely worth the drive to Kentville!

    We have been goin...

We have been going to Andre for 15+ years. On the rare occasion that we went other places (special on tires and installation, or getting stranded at the other end if the province), we were disappointed in the lack of attention to detail in these other garages. I recommend The Other Guys to all of my friends and family, and I recommend them to you.

Best mechanic in the valley, hands down!

Andre, owner of The Other Guys Automotive, is one of the best mechanics around - knowledgeable, honest, and an amazing problem-solver. If there's a way to fix your car that doesn't involve expensive new parts, he will find it. And if there's a way to reduce costs, he will do it. I posted a whole bunch of examples only to get an error message that my review was too long... but let it be said that Andre correctly diagnosed a serious problem based solely on my description after another well-known garage (who I had paid $150 for some useless diagnostic tests) had failed - Andre pointed me to the Ford Dealership, told me there was a service bulletin about the problem, and that I needed a new fuel pump which Ford would install for free. He didn't charge me a dime for this diagnosis. Later when I needed new spark plugs and wires, he hunted around for the best price and saved me $100. When my battery died last year, the cheapest replacement was $150, but Andre found another one, same quality, for $80 that, with a bit of ingenuity, he could make fit (no problems with it). If he tells me that a job will take a half hour and it ends up taking twice as long because of rusted on bolts and other headaches, he charges me for the half hour. When I took my car in for its MVI, one of the license plate light bulbs wasn't working because of corroded wires. It took hours to get that one silly little bulb working, and I sweated wondering how much it was going to cost... the answer, nothing! Just the regular price of an MVI and a light bulb. Now I'm not saying they work for free because obviously they'd be out of business, and they have done some serious work on my car that did cost many hundreds of dollars, but I never had to wonder if the work was necessary or if I was being overcharged - that is just not their style. Good, honest mechanics are hard to find and "The Other Guys Automotive" are in the "best of the best" category! I give them my highest recommendation.
