They seriously need to create a chain of restos here in Montreal. There are numerous selections of breakfast dishes. My all time fav is "The Grand Slam". The pancakes are so soft and fluffy. :)
i've been to denny's on multiple occasions with different sizes of groups. the staff is very friendly and the service is great. on a quiet day, like some of the days i've been in you can often see the staff joking around with each other. never have i once been in and had a mistake happen. the ONE time i recall a mistake was when they we're training a new server and she forgot to add deserts onto our bills, but it was fixed instantly. i've recently got a job there and have been working as a hostess for a year, and reading many of the other reviews about "dirty staff" or "paying extra" for hotel packs. hotel packs are included, you just ask the front desk and you're basically getting a free meal that the hotel pack says on it, as for the "dirty staff" - i for a fact know after a long day of hard work and getting busses and kids hockey teams you tend to get dirty cleaning tables and dishes and making milkshakes etc. overall its a great family place, with great food and excellent service.
Our Days Inn Pkg. included breakfast. We thought there would be a choice or perhaps a buffet. Wrong. Our breakfast was 2 eggs, 2 sausages, hash browns, bacon, toast, coffee or tea. I asked our very unfriendly, sour faced waiter if I could have pancakes instead of the sausages and toast, he very rudely said "no, you have to pay extra" . I didn't want sausages so said I'd pay extra for pancakes which I was never served. A 12 year old in our party only wanted pancakes but since no substitutes were allowed she couldn't use the breakfast coupon that we paid for. Although we didn't wait long to get our breakfast, it wasn't hot and the kitchen possibly prepared large breakfast quanties ahead of time. Funny thing ... a posted sign read "Real Breakfasts are always served with a smile 24/7" We didn't get a smile, didn't get a "good morning" or have a nice day, zip. We were out of town visitors in Kingston for the first time to attend a wedding which was beautiful but Denny's food and the service was terrible. This was our first visit to a Denny's and there won't be a second. If I receive friendly, courteous service, I'll give a very generous tip, but in this case, he got exactly what he earned which was one penny.

We arrived at Denny's for a quick bite to eat. My daughter ordered chicken nuggets, my husband ordered the homestyle meat loaf, and I oredered Moon's over my Hammy. When we arrived my daugther asked the hostess what the toothpick was used for, (she is 6) the hostess said it's used for whatever and went back to her phone conversation.
Our waitress was fine, but the food certainly was not. I had my third bite of the sandwich, and felt something strange. I pulled out about a 3 inch piece of plastic. I was very upset to say the least. They did comp my food, but the manager never came over to appologize. I noticed the waitress did speak to him but he didn't seem to concernred. My concern is what if that was my daughter that was eating that sandwich?!?!? I would never go there again!! Even if it was the last restaurant on earth. Harsh, but a reality.

You better like salt if you want to eat here! We thought this would be a safe bet for breakfast while travelling, but we were wrong - oh so wrong. The food was luke-warm and so salty it was barely etable. We will NOT be back!
