For Anthony Raimondo, opening Salon Metropolar in 2011 was an act of rebellion against the status quo, against the white walls and black chairs that seemed to follow him from one salon to another. Now he says, “I get to do it how I want”.
That he does. Walking into Metropolar, you can’t help but feel a tinge of yearning for sixties glamour. You half-expect Twiggy to sashay over and hand you a martini. You’re not so far off: a vintage mannequin greets you at the door, and Anthony immediately offers you an espresso.
